AUSTRALIA (December 26th, 2014) – Danny Holtgraver opened his 2014/2015 World Series Sprintcars (WSS) season with a top-five finish during feature competition at Speedway City near Adelaide, Australia on Friday, December 26th. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native started the 35-lap main event from the inside of the seventh row, and survived a caution-plagued program to secure his first top-five finish on Australian soil. Holtgraver, who will pilot the Reeve Kruck owned Titan Garages and Carports, Titan Steel Buildings, no. 36 sprint car during his entire stint in Australia, timed 23rd out of 40 cars to kick-off the first round of ‘WSS’ action at Speedway City. The former Lernerville Speedway track champion locked himself into the evening’s 35-lap A-main by way of heat race victory. Dave Murcott was the ‘WSS’ opening round winner.
“Wasn’t a bad night at all!” explained Danny Holtgraver, “We didn’t time as well as we would have liked, but we were fast in the heat races and we were able to get locked in…the feature had a bunch of cautions, but we were able to miss all of them…can’t thank Reeve Kruck, my car owner, and Bingo Jenkins, my crew chief, enough for this opportunity…it’s been a blast so far!”
Danny Holtgraver and the entire Titan Garages ‘36’ operation will be back in action on Saturday evening, December 27th for the second round of World Series Sprintcars, and second round of ‘WSS’ speedweek, at the Murray Bridge Speedway.
