HAGERSTOWN, MD: NASCAR driver Dave Blaney doesn’t make many appearances behind the wheel of a Sprint Car. His busy schedule doesn’t allow it. But when Blaney does shed his weekend stock car colors to compete on dirt, he can still get it done against some of the best drivers in the sport.

Blaney proved that Wednesday night at Hagerstown Speedway. The former World of Outlaws champion came back to his roots and led the entire 30-lap distance to capture his first career Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speed Week victory. “This is awesome,” Blaney said. “It’s cool to come here and beat these guys, I mean, they are so good. We started on the money spot, and the car was good enough to hang on. “This was fun tonight. These type of cars are my first love and when I’m done with NASCAR, I will be back in these cars.”
