GETTYSBURG, Pa. (May 10, 2021) – Despite Mother Nature cutting down Danny Dietrich’s World of Outlaws tune-up plan from two races to one, “Double-D” made the most of his weekend “test session” and finished tenth at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, May 8, climbing five spots from 15th to secure his 18th top-ten result of the 2021 season. With Port Royal’s cancellation padding Lincoln’s turnout, 37 sprints made the call on Saturday for the Outlaws tune-up.

“I think we wanted a little bit more out of our weekend, but we’ll work for even better results on Wednesday when the Outlaws come to town,” Dietrich said, who owns one win thus far in 2021. “We’re excited about the opportunity to race with the Outlaws all week. The atmosphere at these races are second to none and we’re going to do everything we can do defend home dirt against these guys. I’m ready to get started.”

The first World of Outlaws invasion of the season will begin with the annual Gettysburg Clash at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway on Wednesday, May 12. The midweek showstopper will award a $10,000 top prize; the first and only Outlaws visit to the Pigeon Hills this season.

After an off day on Thursday, May 13, action will continue with the two-day Morgan Cup at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday and Saturday, May 14-15. Saturday’s Morgan Cup finale will go 30 laps in distance and will award a $15,000 top prize.

Danny Dietrich is a five-time winner with the Greatest Show On Dirt over the course of his career, scoring his most recent triumph during a start at Bridgeport Speedway in Bridgeport, New Jersey, on May 21, 2019. Forced to hold off Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing’s Donny Schatz to score the $10,000 victory, Dietrich led the first 32 circuits before Schatz nearly stole the show on lap 33. Dietrich persevered and regained control before the final checkers waved.

“We hope to see packed houses all week,” Dietrich continued. “Fan support plays a big role in helping Posse teams fend off the Outlaws. We couldn’t do it without them.”
