FOREST, Ohio (May 10, 2021) – Once again joining the best that non-wing sprint car racing has to offer, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports made the tow to the World’s Greatest Dirt Track during the recent weekend, joining the USAC National Sprint Cars for the #LetsRaceTwo doubleheader at Eldora Speedway on May 7-8.

Although the bulk of Friday’s program was postponed until Saturday due to weather, Westfall, driver of the Ray Marshall-owned/Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car, cashed in his pair of USAC A-Main starts for one top-ten outcome, crossing the line ninth from tenth during the Saturday afternoon portion. Westfall earned his way into the $10,000-to-win main event by finishing fourth during his respective heat race, kicking-off his showing with the ninth-fastest time during qualifying time trials.

Incidentally, Westfall started tenth during each of the USAC contests at Eldora. Despite attempts to match his prior performance, the pilot of the ever-familiar “Bumblebee Express” missed the top-ten during his second attempt on Saturday evening and was scored 14th. Like the “Friday” program, Westfall timed ninth-fastest overall, eventually earning his way into the big dance by finishing fifth during heat race competition.

“It was a solid weekend for this team. Those fields were as tough as they get, and to come out of Eldora with a top-ten says a lot about our potential. We were consistent all weekend and that’s probably the most important part,” Westfall said, a former Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) champion who owns one victory thus far in 2021. “I can’t thank Ray Marshall and the entire team enough for their hard work and support over the last few years. Ray is very passionate about racing and I wouldn’t want to be racing for anyone else. We have another big weekend ahead so we’re going to do everything we can to get this 33M up front for him.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2021 campaign with a BOSS doubleheader in the Hoosier State, first visiting the bullring at Gas City I-69 Speedway on Friday, May 14, followed by an appearance at Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday, May 15. Of the pair, Westfall and Ray Marshall own the most success at Gas City, scoring at least one victory per year over the last two seasons.
