Fremont, OH (July 8th, 2014) – The 2014 Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title Championship Series presented by KS Sales & Service campaign is officially beyond the halfway mark. With only seven (7) F.A.S.T. ‘410’ Championship Series events remaining on the 2014 schedule, and four (4) F.A.S.T. ‘305’ Championship Series events remaining, teams are running low on time to secure their spot at the top of the charts. The F.A.S.T. ‘410’ Championship Series hosted two (2) events during the most recent weekend; visiting Attica Raceway Park on Friday evening, July 4th, and Fremont Speedway on Saturday, July 5th. When it was all said and done, the weekend saw two (2) different drivers from two (2) different continents take to the winner’s stage; including the current F.A.S.T. ‘410’ Championship Series point leader, and an Australian invader.
Chris Andrews, who currently leads the Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title ‘410’ Championship Series presented by KS Sales & Service point standings, earned his second F.A.S.T. victory of the 2014 season on Friday night, July 4th at Attica Raceway Park. The Sandusky, Ohio native would hold off Brian Lay and Caleb Helms for the top spot on the podium. Byron Reed and Bryan Sebetto rounded out Friday night’s top-five finish. Andrews joins Brian Lay as the only repeat F.A.S.T. main event winners thus far in 2014.
It was all Jamie Veal during F.A.S.T. ‘410’ Championship Series main event action on Saturday evening, July 5th at Fremont Speedway. The Australia native survived a caution-loaded main event to earn a career-first Fremont Speedway victory, and a career-first Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title Championship Series presented by KS Sales & Service main event win. Veal would hold off Dean Jacobs and fellow Australian, James McFadden, for the 30-lap/$2,500 victory. McFadden, who was scheduled to be the evening’s pole sitter, decided to forfeit his starting position and start at the tail for a possible $5,000 bonus. Fortunately for Veal, McFadden’s charge from 20th ended in the third position. Byron Reed and Brian Smith rounded out the top-five on Saturday night. Chris Andrews, the current F.A.S.T. point leader, finished eighth (8th).
The Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title Championship Series presented by KS Sales & Service will take the upcoming weekend off before returning to competition on Friday and Saturday, July 18th & 19th at Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway. The July 18th program at Attica Raceway Park will have a little extra on the line; as the main event winner will earn $3,000. The JLH General Contractors Fremont/Attica Sprint Title ‘305’ Championship Series presented by Engine Pro will not return to competition until Friday and Saturday, July 25th & 26th.
Chris Andrews will lead the F.A.S.T. ‘410’ competitors into the July 18th & 19th weekend as the current championship point leader. Andrews leads the series with 1333 points. Byron Reed (1294), Caleb Griffith (1275), Brian Lay (1260) and Travis Philo (1115) round out the top five in the current F.A.S.T. championship. The 2014 champion will receive $10,000.
