Firecracker provisional on the line for Precise Late Models

Mid-Season Championships in all Fab Four divisions this Friday, June 21
7th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com just one week away!

Sarver, PA (June 19, 2013) All Fab Four divisions will be in action this Friday, June 21 on Mid-Season Championship Night with track provisionals on the line for each division!  The one with the most immediate implications is the Firecracker 100 provisional for the Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Models.

The Precise Late Models is the only division that has seen six different winners in 2013; Dave Hess Jr., Davey Johnson, Jared Miley, Michael Norris, Mike Pegher Jr. and most recently John Garvin Jr.  Garvin is the current Budweiser Points leader and can clinch the other track provisional during heat race competition.  The winner of Friday Night’s Mid-Season Championship and the Budweiser Points leader at the end of the night will both be locked into the 7th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com A-Main.  Garvin leads Alex Ferree by 27 points, while Jared Miley (47 points back) and Michael Norris (51 points back) cannot earn enough points in one night to secure the points provisional outright.  However, if Garvin and/or Ferree win the Mid-Season Championship and/or race their way into the Firecracker 100 A-Main through their Saturday Night heat race or B-Main, the Budweiser Points provisional will trickle down to the highest driver in Bud Points NOT qualified into the race.

The Peoples TWP Sprint division has seen five different winners, but only three, (Jack Sodeman Jr., Brandon Spithaler and Eric Williams), are weekly competitors.  All Stars traveler Cap Henry stole a feature win earlier in the season and All Time division wins leader Ed Lynch Jr. has made two appearances at the Action Track in 2013 and both have resulted in feature wins.  Friday Night’s Mid-Season Champion will be locked into the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XXII Twin 30s on Tuesday, July 16.  That provisional has gone to Brian Ellenberger each of the past two seasons and to Ed Lynch Jr. the previous two seasons.

Brandon Spithaler will enter the event as the Budweiser Points leader with a five-point lead over Eric Williams.  Brandon Matus (19 points back), Jack Sodeman Jr. (21 points back) and Carl Bowser (32 points back) are all in striking distance to secure the track provisional based on Budweiser Points.  Only the Mid-Season Championship and the July 12 Fab Four event remain before the Silver Cup on Tuesday, July 16.  Some of the Peoples TWP Sprint stars will be in action on Friday, July 5 for the BOSS Wingless Sprint show, but they will not be competing for Budweiser Point that night.

Mat Williamson and Corey McPherson have comfortable leads in the Budweiser Points on the strength of three feature wins apiece.  Williamson and the rest of the Diehl Auto Group DIRTcar Northeast Modifieds will be competing for a track provisional for the prestigious Kodiak Graham Memorial A-Main to be contested at the DIRTcar Round Up Steel City Stampede in October.  Meanwhile, McPherson and his Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar Sportsman brethren will be competing for a track provisional for the Sportsman/Stock Spectacular at Autumn-Motive Fest 2013 in September.

The Mid-Season Championship feature redraw procedures will be different than regular Fab Four Racing procedures.  Instead of qualifying through heat races for the redraw, the Top 10 (or 12 in Sportsman) in Budweiser Points will redraw for the front five rows (or six rows for Sportsman) and the subsequent rows will be set by best heat race finish.  Due to the track provisionals being on the line Friday Night, last week’s feature winners are eligible for this redraw straight up, but will have to start in the fifth row (or sixth row for Sportsman) the following Fab Four Friday on July 12, (except for the Sportsman for which this rule will apply on Friday, July 5).

After the Mid-Season Championships, Fab Four Racing will take a brief summer vacation to make way for the 7th Annual Firecracker 100 presented byGottaRace.com next weekend on Thursday-Friday-Saturday, June 27-28-29 and the BOSS Wingless Sprints, RUSH Dirt Late Model Regional Series and Pic-A-Part Sportsman on Friday, July 5.  Fab Four Racing will be back on the schedule Friday, July 12.
