Full All Star Weekend Ahead for Danny Holtgraver
Plymouth and Two Nights at Fremont on the Memorial Day Card

Pittsburgh, PA (May 18th, 2015) – After spending four days in central Pennsylvania racing with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and the ‘Pennsylvania Posse,’ Danny Holtgraver and Phoenix Racing will turn their attention back towards All Star Circuit of Champions competition as they prepare to rejoin ‘America’s Series’ for three events over Memorial Day weekend. Holtgraver, driver of the Phoenix Racing, Bonnell’s Rod Shop, DKW Transport, Auto Electric of Jupiter, Florida, Southern Pacific Farms, no. 59 ‘410’ sprint car, will join the All Star Circuit of Champions in Indiana and Ohio during the upcoming holiday weekend. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native will enter the three-race weekend currently sixth in the All Star standings.
“Last weekend wasn’t a bad weekend” said Holtgraver about this trip to central PA with the World of Outlaws, “Wednesday night was a rough night for us…we timed near the back and that put us behind all night…had to run the C-main and that’s where our night ended…Williams Grove was better for us…we made the show on Friday night and ended up 15th…we were pretty happy with that considering how Wednesday went…I’m definitely ready to get back to All Star racing…we have a busy stretch this weekend with three races…hopefully we can earn three solid finishes and get back in the All Star point hunt.”
Danny Holtgraver and Phoenix Racing will join the All Star Circuit of Champions at the Plymouth Speedway near Plymouth, Indiana on Friday night, May 22nd for the Earl Gaerte Classic; officially kicking-off their Memorial Day swing. The Plymouth Speedway stop will be a career-first for Danny Holtgraver.
After their visit to Plymouth, Indiana on Friday night, Holtgraver and the familiar ‘59’ team, led by crew chief Bonzai Bruns, will make their way back east to the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio for back-to-back All Star Circuit of Champions events on Saturday and Sunday, May 23rd & 24th; highlighted with a $10,000-to-win main event on Sunday, May 24th. The Fremont doubleheader will wrap up the Memorial Day swing for Phoenix Racing.
“Fremont Speedway has always been one of those ‘up and down’ places for me, but we plan to change that this weekend” explained Holtgraver, “We’ve had a tough year in some spots, but in other spots we were really good…we keep our heads up and keep moving forward and that’s all you can do…Tom and Sherry Leidig continue to give me great equipment and a wonderful opportunity…I’ve learned a lot from Bonzai and working with him has been a great experience…our first win is right around the corner…everyone on this team deserves it.”
During recent sprint car competition, Danny Holtgraver joined the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in central Pennsylvania. The former Lernerville Speedway track champion highlighted his central PA swing with a 15th place finish at the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 15th. The May 16th ‘Morgan Cup’ program was cancelled due to rain.
