GRIMES, Iowa (July 18, 2022) – For a third consecutive start, Ryan Giles and Ryan Giles Racing powered themselves to a top-ten performance at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, digging themselves out of an early qualifying hole to accomplish their eighth-place result on Saturday, July 16. Despite the frustrating send off, timing 17th quick in the 38-car field, Giles rebounded in a big way, finishing second in his respective heat race before ultimately capping the evening with the aforementioned third consecutive top-ten appearance.
Giles, ace of the Albaugh LLC., Iowa Barnstormers, Hicklin Powersports, Barron Equipment, Omega Concrete Mixers, No. 9 sprint car, climbed five spots from row seven to keep his top-ten streak alive. The Grimes, Iowa, native has now finished fifth, seventh, and eighth in his Knoxville 360 sprint car starts.
“Our qualifying effort wasn’t the best on Saturday, but to recover like we did says a lot. We were able to move forward in the feature and keep our top-ten consistency alive,” Ryan Giles explained, a former 360 Knoxville Nationals preliminary night winner. “Hats off to this entire team. We’ve had speed every night and that’s going to be a huge asset for us when the Nationals come around. We’re working toward big results.”
