MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa (July 18, 2022) – In all, it was a sound weekend for TKS Motorsports and Ian Madsen, and although the team ultimately missed the top-ten, finishing 13th from 16th in the 20-lap 410 sprint car main event, the team’s speed was obvious, inching closer toward their goal of earning a Knoxville Raceway main event win.

Madsen, ace of Troy Renfro’s Albaugh LLC, Iowa Barnstormers, deWit Construction, Jersey Freeze, No. 2KS sprint car, kicked-off his evening at the Sprint Car Capital of the World with the 11th fastest time of 29 entries, racing on to finish fifth in his respective heat race. As mentioned, the Australia native marched ahead three positions in the evening’s main event, losing a little potential to lapped traffic.

“We are definitely making progress. I think our performance was better than what the text results show, but we’ll keep working hard and good things will come for this team,” Troy Refro stated, TKS Motorsports team owner. “Also, a big congrats to Ian for winning Knoxville’s 360 feature on Saturday night. He’s a talented wheel man and he certainly knows his way around this place.”

ON DECK:
TKS Motorsports and Ian Madsen will continue their 2022 campaign with 3M Night at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, July 23.
