CHICORA, Pa. (August 2, 2021) – Despite having some mechanical difficulties during the second of two features contested at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” on Saturday evening, July 30, Chicora, Pennsylvania’s George Hobaugh made the most of his visit to the Juniata County Fairgrounds and finished 13th during the evening’s first feature, the $10,000-to-win Living Legends Dream Race, and did so after starting in the exact same position. Although not Hobaugh’s top result at Port Royal, the finish was more than respectable, forced to duel with the biggest stars in Pennsylvania Posse Country.
As expressed, mechanical issues kept Hobaugh from securing a better result during Port’s second main event on Saturday. Throttle linkage issues were the culprit causing Hobaugh’s throttle to stick.
“It wasn’t a bad effort for our team. We’ve been better, but it’s a tough field. Every lap counts and you have to capitalize,” Hobaugh expressed, driver of the Hobaugh Motorsports, Krill Recycling, Laskowski Plumbing, Ridgeview Security, Hobaugh’s Auto Parts, Colliers Custom Kitchen and Bath, No. 40 sprint car who owns one top-five at Port Royal in 2021. “I just want to thank Krill Recycling for helping Port Royal make the second feature a possibility on Saturday. Krill is a great supporter and we appreciate everything that they do for us, as well as everything that they do for the racing community. We wanted to win that race for them, but we’ll have more opportunities.”
George Hobaugh and Hobaugh Motorsports will continue their 2021 campaign with a return trip to Sharon Speedway on Saturday, August 7. Hobaugh is a former winner at the northeast Ohio facility, as well as the proud owner of multiple top-five finishes, most recently on July 24; Hobaugh’s victory was accomplished on May 15.
