CHICORA, Pa. (August 23, 2021) – A perfect test session for the upcoming Sprint Car Spectacular, Chicora, Pennsylvania’s George Hobaugh made the short tow to Lernerville Speedway on Friday, August 20, and participated in another round of Fab4 competition, ultimately ending his campaign with another mark in the top-ten column. Hobaugh, driver of the Hobaugh Motorsports, Krill Recycling, Laskowski Plumbing, Ridgeview Security, Hobaugh’s Auto Parts, Colliers Custom Kitchen and Bath, No. 40 sprint car, finished ninth at Lernerville; his best finish at the Speedway since scoring a podium on Friday, June 11.
Boasting a $3,500 top prize, Lernerville’s Sprint Car Spectacular, made possible by the fine folk at Peluso Roofing, will headline action at the Sarver oval on Friday, August 27. A minimum of 24 starters will make the call for the August blockbuster which will guarantee a minimum of $300-to-start.
“We’re excited to head back to Lernerville on Friday. Hats off to everyone who made the Sprint Car Spectacular possible,” George Hobaugh said, a one-time winner thus far in 2021, earning the triumph at Hartford, Ohio’s Sharon Speedway on May 15. “I think we were better than ninth our last start out, but we’ll take the top-ten and build from that. Hopefully we can put ourselves in a prime position to contend for a win this weekend. We’re overdue.”
Including his recent top-ten at Lernerville, Hobaugh will enter the Sprint Car Spectacular on a stretch of success, all of which padded by multiple top-five runs at Sharon Speedway. In fact, Hobaugh owns two consecutive top-fives at Sharon; a runner-up result on August 7 and a fifth-place score on August 14.
