CHICORA, Pa. (June 28, 2021) – George Hobaugh and Hobaugh Motorsports have certainly found their rhythm at Sharon Speedway, and Saturday’s top-five only adds to an impressive stat sheet that the Chicora, Pennsylvania-native has been building since the beginning of the season. In fact, including his victory attained on May 15, Hobaugh has been inside the top-five on three occasions at the Hartford, Ohio, oval, one of which during Ohio Sprint Speedweek competition when Hobaugh finished fifth; he started from the pole after winning the evening’s first All Star Circuit of Champions dash.

During his most recent Sharon start on June 26, Hobaugh, driver of the Krill Recycling, Laskowski Plumbing, Ridgeview Security, Hobaugh’s Auto Parts, Colliers Custom Kitchen and Bath, No. 40 sprint car, earned the pole position and led the first five circuits before being overthrown by National Sprint Car Hall of Famer, Dale Blaney; Hobaugh went on to finish fifth.

“It’s pretty tough to be disappointed with a top-five finish, but when you start from the pole, it’s hard to be satisfied, “Hobaugh explained. “I think we needed to get to the top a little sooner. We were better than where we finished, but that’s the way it goes. We have some bigger shows coming up at Sharon in the next few weeks, so we’ll do our best to learn from this and hopefully put ourselves in a position to beat the All Stars when they come back.”

Hobaugh and Hobaugh Motorsports will miss a weekend of competition before returning to action on July 10-11, set to rejoin Tony Stewart’s All Star Circuit of Champions for a Sharon Speedway doubleheader. Action will kick-off with the annual Lou Blaney Memorial on Saturday,  July 10, followed by Justin Snyder’s Salute to the Troops race on Sunday, July 11. Each event will award $6,000 top prizes.

“We’re excited for those two races,” Hobaugh added. “I think we have what it takes to beat the All Stars at Sharon. We’ve been close.”
