CHICORA, Pa. (May 16, 2022) – Despite losing the opportunity for additional lap time before the Greatest Show On Dirt invades in less than a week, Chicora, Pennsylvania’s George Hobaugh is eager to return to Sharon Speedway, set to join the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for their upcoming appearance on Saturday, May 21. Hobaugh was scheduled to compete at Sharon on May 14, but Mother Nature intervened.
Certainly no stranger to the Hartford, Ohio, oval, Hobaugh’s accomplishments at Sharon Speedway are steadily increasing, most recently earning a fifth-place finish against the All Star CIrcuit of Champions during Buckeye Cup action on April 30. Impressive enough, Hobaugh led the first 28 circuits, only to lose the handle on a fast tightening race car.
Before joining the World of Outlaws, Hobaugh will launch the coming weekend with a return to Lernerville Speedway on Friday, May 20. His most recent start at “The Action Track” resulted in a sixth-place performance on Friday, May 13, climbing one spot after starting seventh on the grid. Hobaugh kicked-off the program with a heat race victory.
“I think we have a pretty good notebook put together for Sharon. We’ll treat the World of Outlaws race like any other race and just keep doing what we’ve been doing,” Hobaugh said, driver of the Krill Recycling, Laskowski Plumbing, Ridgeview Security, Hobaugh’s Auto Parts, Colliers Custom Kitchen and Bath, No. 40 sprint car. “It all starts with pill draw and qualifying…that will tell the tale from the start.”
ON DECK:
George Hobaugh and Hobaugh Motorsports will continue their 2022 campaign with return visits to Lernerville Speedway and Sharon Speedway on Friday and Saturday, May 20-21, respectively. The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will be the headline attraction at Sharon awarding $10,000.
