FOREST, Ohio (May 16, 2022) – Despite a long and tiresome weekend slate that took the team to areas within Kansas, Missouri, and Indiana, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports took advantage of every opportunity and cashed in for a trio of top-ten performances, two of which during USAC National Sprint Cars competition, highlighted with a runner-up outcome during open non-wing action at Circle City Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana. Westfall launched his Sunday, May 15, visit to the Circle City bullring with a heat race victory.
Before his one night stop in Indianapolis, Westfall, ace of Ray Marshall’s Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc., Hempy Water, DPI Ink, No. 33M sprint car, joined USAC for a Midwest swing through Missouri and Kansas, visiting Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas, on Thursday, May 12, and I-70 Motorsports Park in Odessa, Missouri, on Saturday, May 14. Westfall finished sixth and tenth, respectively, equalling his best USAC performances of the season.
Westfall’s sixth-place score at Lakeside Speedway was the product of row six, salvaging a top-ten outcome after battling through the evening’s consolation semi-feature.
“It was a long weekend with a lot of miles logged, but we put together some solid runs against talented fields of cars and that’s motivating for us. That first win is coming soon,” Westfall explained, the 2021 Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) champion. “Hats off to Ray Marshall and all of Ray Marshall Motorsports. Ray gives us the opportunity to go out and do this and we wouldn’t be in this position without him.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2022 campaign with a USAC National Sprint Car Series doubleheader at the Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Indiana, on Friday and Saturday, May 20-21.
