CHICORA, Pa. (June 27, 2022) – Back-to-back weekends resulted in back-to-back top-five finishes for George Hobaugh and Hobaugh Motorsports, ultimately capping their June campaign with a podium run at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, on Saturday, June 25; Hobaugh was fifth at PPMS one weekend prior.
Lining up third on the grid, Hobaugh maintained his place within the top-five the entire 30-lap distance, eventually finishing third just behind Brandon Spithaler and AJ Flick. The Chicora, Pennsylvania, native kicked-off Sharon’s weekly program with a runner-up performance during heat race competition.
Hobaugh was a main event winner at Sharon Speedway on May 15, 2021; his first win of 2022 occurred at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway on May 28.
“It wasn’t a bad night for our team. We’ve been itching to get that next win, but our time will come soon enough,” Hobaugh explained, driver of the Krill Recycling, Laskowski Plumbing, Ridgeview Security, Hobaugh’s Auto Parts, Hobo Storage, No. 40 sprint car. “I’m not sure what our next few weeks have in store. We want to take some time to kinda regroup before getting into the back half of the year. We’ll have a game plan sooner than later.”
