BUTLER, Pa. (April 15, 2024) – Despite a tough outcome Wednesday evening at Millbridge Speedway that left Hutchison with a 22nd-place finish – against a stout field, nonetheless – the 12-year-old out of Butler, Pennsylvania, rebounded big Saturday at Rockfish Speedway in Raeford, North Carolina, and concluded the evening back on the podium. The score, Hutchison’s eighth top-five of the 2024 season, was the product of a near-perfect preliminary performance, all of which kicking off with the fastest qualifying time of 22 entries.
Hutchison, ace of the BKR, Classic Ink USA Screenprinting & Embroidery, E2 Apparel, Open Joist, Non-Wing Micro, finished third in his Rockfish appearance, starting the evening’s main event from the exact same position. As noted, Hutchison’s qualifying effort was superb, but it was his heat race performance that really set the tone, racing on to finish second; it was an all-podium evening for the Western Pennsylvania youngster.
“It was a great rebound for our team. We made a mistake in qualifying on Wednesday at Millbridge so that really buried us, but to come back at Rockfish and get a podium is special,” Hutchison explained. “We’re going to work for some Millbridge redemption Wednesday when we go back.”
