Sarver, PA (June 26th, 2014) – Former Lernerville Speedway track champion and recent Lernerville main event winner, Jared Miley, opened his 2014 ‘Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com’ weekend with a top-ten finish during preliminary main event action on Thursday evening, June 26th. Miley, who pilots the Jared Miley Racing, Colussy Chevrolet, Brougher’s Machine Shop, Octane Graphix, Rocket Chassis, FullyInjected.com, no. H1 super late model, finished seventh (7th) officially on Thursday evening during the 30-lap/$6,000-to-win World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Firecracker’ preliminary main event; charging from the nineteenth (19th) starting position to secure the top-ten finish. ‘The Jet’ would have to do it the ‘hard way’ on Thursday evening; earning his tenth row main-event starting position by way of winning his respective consolation B-main. There were fifty-five (55) World of Outlaws Late Model Series super late models signed-in on Thursday night. Darrell Lanigan was the $6,000 main event winner.
“It was a pretty good night…feels great to get a top-ten; especially with this level of competition” said Jared Miley, “We were rollin’ pretty good…my brother Matt, my Dad, Jimmy, and all of the guys on this JMR team work really hard…they had the car right where it needed to be…hopefully we can repeat on Friday night, or better yet, put this ‘H1’ even closer towards the front.”
The four-time super late model winner in 2014 kicked-off ‘Firecracker 100’ preliminary action with a qualifying effort of 16.994 seconds; placing him eleventh (11th) overall during ‘Group A’ qualifying time trials. Jared Miley would finish fourth (4th) during his respective heat race; one spot shy of an A-main transfer position. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native would go on to win the first of three consolation B-mains, all before rallying from 19th to 7th during the 30-lap preliminary main event.
Friday evening, June 27th will see a similar Firecracker 100 preliminary format; with all entries once again participating in a $6,000-to-win preliminary World of Outlaws Late Model Series program. The finale for the 2014 Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com will take place on Saturday evening, June 28th; complete with a 100-lap/$30,000-to-win super late model main event.
