Jim Ford Classic On Deck for Phoenix Racing

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

Pittsburgh, PA (September 17, 2015) – Danny Holtgraver and Phoenix Racing will travel back to the “Buckeye State” this weekend for a scheduled stop at the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio. The 8th annual “Jim Ford Classic” worth $10,000 is on tap this weekend at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds, complete with two nights of UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions competition, beginning with preliminary action on Friday evening, September 18, worth $3,000. The $10,000-to-win finale will highlight the two-day show on Saturday, September 19.

“Excited to get back to Fremont this weekend” explained Holtgraver, “Any time you have an opportunity to race at a show like this with a lot on the line is special. Cody Jacobs recently joined up with us and has been a huge help. We’ve been teamed up for a few weeks and have grown comfortable with each other. Our results may not show it, but we’re doing a lot of positive things. We’ll head to Fremont with a positive attitude and work for win.”

Danny Holtgraver, driver of the Phoenix Racing, Bonnell’s Rod Shop, DKW Transport, Southern Pacific Farms, Auto Electric of Jupiter, #59, will enter the upcoming weekend at Fremont Speedway currently eighth in the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions standings. “Downtown” has earned seven top-five and 16 top-ten finishes during UNOH All Star competition thus far in 2015, while also earning one unsanctioned victory at Mercer Raceway Park back in August.

“It has been a challenging year” said Holtgraver, “But we never give up. I want to thank Tom and Sherry Leidig again for the opportunity this season. We have some time left this year. We’ll keep plugging away and work to end our season on a solid note.”

Holtgraver and Phoenix Racing recently joined the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania for the 48th annual “Tuscarora 50.” The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native earned the fastest time of the night during “Night Before The 50” qualifying time trials on Friday, September 11, all before finishing 17th during A-main action; running out of fuel while racing inside the top-ten with two circuits remaining. Phoenix Racing would not qualify for the “Tuscarora 50” main event on Sunday, September 13.
