Junction Motor Speedway Hosts NAPA Auto Parts Outlaw Showdown Tuesday, Aug. 13
Inside Line Promotions – McCOOL JUNCTION, Neb. (July 30, 2013) – In his first full season competing for Kasey Kahne Racing, Daryn Pittman has set a torrid pace.
Pittman has led the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship points from the season opener and as the second half of the season ramps up, Pittman is in search of his first victory in his first-ever race at Junction Motor Speedway during the NAPA Auto Parts Outlaw Showdown on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
“I’ve never been there,” he said. “I’ve driven by there a couple of times. I’m looking forward to it. Hopefully we have a good Knoxville Nationals and we’ll be going there on high spirits.”
It will mark only the third visit to the 3/8-mile oval for the premier sprint car series. Brooke Tatnell claimed the inaugural event in 2010 and Donny Schatz led all but one lap and lapped up to seventh place last season during the early stages of a hot streak.
“The race track was awesome,” Schatz said after the triumph. “There was guys that could move around. I think it was how good you had your car and how much speed you could make. I couldn’t ask for any better race car.”
It will also be the only trip to Nebraska for the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series.
