VINCENTOWN, N.J. (February 3, 2023) – New Jersey’s own Justin Whittall is ready to get back in the seat, and what better event to do so than Lincoln Speedway’s annual Icebreaker 30. Expanded an extra day in 2023, Central Pennsylvania’s lid lifter will feature back-to-back afternoon programs awarding $5,000 each, officially igniting another year of high-paced open wheel competition in Pennsylvania Posse Country.

Certainly no stranger to the Abbottstown, Pennsylvania, oval, Whittall finished ninth in last year’s annual Icebreaker, surpassing that statistic with a fifth-place outcome just a few weeks later on March 26 – his first top-five score of the year.

“I’m ready to get back to work,” Whittall explained, a two-time Posse winner thus far in his career. “We were privileged to end the year on some high notes, so the momentum was definitely on our side heading into the off-season. The plan is to pick up right where we left off and get the new season going with some solid finishes at Lincoln.”

Although unable to attain a trip to victory lane in the Pigeon Hills, Whittall found recent success at the “Speed Palace,” notching a $6,000 triumph during Port Royal Speedway’s Speed Showcase on Friday, October 14. Head-turning in its own right, the Vincentown native entered the aforementioned weekend fresh off of career best outcomes against the All Star Circuit of Champions and World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, finishing fourth in the $60,000-to-win Tuscarora 50 and the Nittany Showdown opener, respectively.

“I think the potential is there, and we’ve proven that, we just need to continue putting it all together,” Whittall added. “Racing in Central Pennsylvania allows for so much opportunity. We make the trek from New Jersey every weekend because it’s the best place in the country to race and competing at that level is only going to allow us to improve.”
