‘Kids Night’ Featuring the ULMS, UEMS and ‘Incredible Weekly Show’ on Deck for NDRL’s McKean County Raceway

East Smethport, PA (July 22, 2013) The NDRL’s McKean County Raceway will host the ULMS Late Models and UEMS A&MP Electric Emods this Friday, July 26 as a makeup date to last week’s postponed ‘Speedweek Tour’ event. The ULMS Late Models will be highlighted with a $3,000 to-win event while the UEMS EMods will compete for a cool $1,000. With the addition of this Friday’s rescheduled festivities, McKean County Raceway officials are offering double points to all other ‘Incredible Weekly Show’ divisions including the weekly RUSH Late Models, Close Racing Supply Street Stocks, Mini-Stocks, and Pure Stocks.


Also added to this week’s event is a kid’s bicycle giveaway. The NDRL and McKean County Raceway will raffle off 2 girls bikes and 2 boys bikes with the winner’s to be drawn by the night’s feature event winners. Children 12 and under will receive a ticket as they enter and will be entered to win one of the four bicycles.

Ripley, NY’s Mike Knight will lead the ULMS contingent into MCR but Boom Briggs of Bear Lake, PA and second generation driver Alex Ferree of Saxonburg, PA have been the tour’s most recent winners. Drivers expected to be on hand include Knight, Briggs, Matt Urban, Dave Hess Jr., Ron Davies, Rob Blair, Brent Rhebergen, Jason Dupont, and Greg Oakes among others.

Smethport’s own Steve Dixon continues to lead the UEMS point standings after another solid weekend including another win at Sharon Speedway on Saturday, July 20. Dixon has finished no worse than sixth in his past six UEMS starts. Dave Hess Jr. and Joel Watson were also winners during the ULMS/UEMS ‘Speedweek Tour’.

Max Blair of Centerville, PA continues to lead the weekly RUSH Late Model point standings after capturing his fifth victory last week. NY’s Chad Ruhlman only sits 25 point behind Blair despite not winning a feature event.

Brad Ullman and Andy Michael, both from Allegany, NY hope to carve into Adam Ashcroft’s Close Racing Supply Street Stock point lead this week as well as keep him out of victory lane as Ashcroft has captured six checkered flags this 2013 season. Ashcroft holds a 54 point lead over Ullman while Michael sits 67 points behind with his two wins.

Lantz Corners, PA’s Joe Boylan leads the mini-stock class into this week’s action ahead of Mitch Boylan, Eric Canfield, Larry Mitchell Jr. and Kurt Babcock while Cuba, NY’s Fred Ely has gone undefeated in the pure stock class since it was added to the program at the beginning of July.

The action all starts Friday night, July 26 at 7:30pm with pit gates opening at 4:30pm and grandstand gates opening at 5:00pm. Grandstand admission is now just $12 ($10 senior citizen) and pit passes are now only $25, children 12 and under are free.
