Lernerville, Pittsburgh, Bedford On Weekend Agenda for Danny Holtgraver
Weekend Highlighted with All Star Events at Pittsburgh and Bedford

Pittsburgh, PA (June 2nd, 2015) – Danny Holtgraver will have an opportunity to race close to home this weekend with events scheduled in western Pennsylvania. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native will take part in three events at three different facilities during the upcoming weekend; returning to familiar stomping grounds including his former weekly racing home. Holtgraver, pilot of the Phoenix Racing, Bonnell’s Rod Shop, DKW Transport, Auto Electric of Jupiter, Florida, Southern Pacific Farms, no. 59 ‘410’ sprint car, will visit the Lernerville Speedway, Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway and the Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with the All Star Circuit of Champions sanctioning his Saturday and Sunday stops.
“It’s always nice to race close to home” said Danny Holtgraver, “I always enjoy getting back to Lernerville…I spent a lot of weekends racing there…there is a lot of history at that track and the facility is one of the nicest we visit…Pittsburgh and Bedford are close to home, too…they are big tracks and I like to race on the half-mile ovals…I’m excited to get the weekend started.”
Danny Holtgraver and Phoenix Racing will launch the upcoming weekend with ‘Fab Four’ competition at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania on Friday night, June 5th. The former Lernerville Speedway track champion finished fifth during his last appearance at ‘The Action Track’ back on Friday, May 1st with the All Star Circuit of Champions. Holtgraver will likely visit the Sarver oval on a few more occasions in 2015 including the annual ‘Silver Cup’ featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.
The Phoenix Racing ‘59’ team will join the All Star Circuit of Champions at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday evening, June 6th. Holtgraver, who has been a full-time traveler with ‘America’s Series’ in 2015, will enter the Saturday night program at ‘Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile’ sixth in the current All Star standings. Holtgraver is a former feature winner at ‘P.P.M.S.’ and will hunt for his first All Star victory of 2015 on Saturday night.
Holtgraver will rejoin the All Star Circuit of Champions at the Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway in Bedford, Pennsylvania on Sunday, June 7th. The weekend ending program will award $5,000 to the main event winner. Like Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, this will be Holtgraver’s first visit to the Bedford half-mile in 2015. The Pittsburgh/Bedford swing will be the first time the All Star Circuit of Champions have been track-side since May 24th at Fremont Speedway. The traveling series was plagued with rain last weekend; losing events on May 30th at 31st at Wayne County (OH) Speedway and Millstream (OH) Speedway.
“It will be a busy weekend but we are anxious to get started” said Danny Holtgraver, “I can’t thank Tom and Sherry Leidig enough for this opportunity…we’ve been working on some things and getting close to where we need to be…we’ve been up and down the road a lot so far this year so it will be nice to sleep in my own bed a few nights this weekend.”
During recent sprint car competition, Danny Holtgraver and Phoenix Racing joined the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio on Friday, May 29th. Unfortunately, their night ended early at the Attica bullring; finishing seventh during the ‘Last Chance Showdown.’
