“Mad Max” Will Hit Upcoming NRA Doubleheader;
Finishes 5th at Lima on May 6

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

ELIDA, Ohio (May 9, 2016) – Despite Mother Nature disturbing half of the 2016 K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders campaign, washing away two of the four scheduled events thus far, “Mad Max” Stambaugh has not lost focus. The Elida, Ohio, native, who is chasing a career first championship with the Ohio-based 360 sprint car series in 2016, earned top-five finishes during the first two NRA Sprint Invaders events, including a fourth place performance during the Season Opening Shootout at Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday, April 15. Stambaugh’s 2016 NRA Sprint Invaders campaign will hit another gear this Friday and Saturday with action in Ohio and Indiana.

“It’s easy to get frustrated when weather is always causing races to get canceled, but that is obviously something we can’t control. We just stay focused and look forward to the next one,” explained Max Stambaugh, pilot of the Elwer Fence, Specialized Therapy, Biggies Coast to Coast, Triple JJJ, Dale’s Concrete, Quality Welding Fab, Full Effect Lawn Mowing, Radio Hospital, No. 5M. “We are two for two right now in the top-five category. Consistency is great, but we want to get up front. We’ll try to make that happen beginning Friday night.”

The upcoming NRA Sprint Invaders doubleheader weekend will launch officially on Friday evening, May 13, with the 81st Anniversary program at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio. “Mad Max” is a former main event winner at the quarter-mile oval, capturing two, 360 sprint car main event victories in 2015, both during NRA Sprint Invaders competition.

The K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders doubleheader will continue on Saturday evening, May 14, with the first scheduled stop outside of Ohio boundaries. Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier, Indiana, will host the third annual “Border Wars” on Saturday night, the first of two visits to the high speed quarter-mile this season. Montpelier Motor Speedway is the only Indiana track on the 2016 NRA schedule.

“We are pretty pumped to race two nights this weekend,” explained Max Stambaugh. “Limaland is an obvious favorite, but Montpelier is just as exciting. It’s a racey little quarter-mile that usually produces some great racing. I think we have the potential to find victory lane on both nights. I have a great group of people who support this team, and with their help, we have the potential to win anywhere. We want to earn an NRA title. This is the year we want to do it.”

Max Stambaugh finished the 2015 NRA Sprint Invaders championship tied for the top spot, but would be scored as the runner-up after the series utilized the victory criterion.

“It was a tough way to lose a title,” said Stambaugh. “We owe this season to ourselves.”
