Zearfoss Charges Ahead for Top-Ten at Port Royal;
Williams Grove Outlaw Tune-Up Highlights Upcoming Weekend Agenda

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

JONESTOWN, Pa. (May 9, 2016) – The “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss has been in the hunt all season at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania, continuing that trend with another top-ten finish during main event action on Saturday evening, May 7. His fifth top-ten Port Royal Speedway finish of the 2016 season did not come easy, charging forward from 15th on the main event grid, while also recovering from a mid-race, 360-degree spin. Despite the obstacles, Zearfoss rallied and made his presence known once more at the Port Royal “Speed Palace.” The Jonestown, Pennsylvania, native will enter the next Port Royal Speedway program on Saturday, May 14, sixth in the current track championship chase, trailing the current point leader by 205 markers.

“We had a really good car on Saturday night…couldn’t be happier with what the guys gave me,” explained Brock Zearfoss. “We were on a roll there for a while, probably would have been a top-three car if it wasn’t for that spin. The car just got out from under me while trying to pass for a position. Unfortunately, those things happen. Luckily, I kept in the gas and only lost two spots. We were strong enough to recover and keep our position inside the top-ten. I’m really happy with our performances this season at Port Royal.”

In addition to his scheduled visit to Port Royal Speedway during the upcoming weekend, Brock Zearfoss will venture to the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, on Friday night, May 13. An “Outlaw Tune-Up” will be contested at the world famous, half-mile, dirt oval, prepping “Pennsylvania Posse” regulars for the upcoming World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series invasion on Friday and Saturday, May 20-21. The “Outlaw Tune-Up” will feature a complete World of Outlaws program, with $4,000 up for grabs at the end of 25 feature laps. Brock Zearfoss, pilot of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Meckley’s Limestone, Central Builders Supply Co., Leach’s Automotive, No. 3Z, has one top-five and one top-ten finish at “The Grove” in 2016, with his most recent result equalling a 14th place finish on Friday evening, April 22.

Other recent results for the “Jonestown Jet” include earning a 14th place finish during the Kevin Gobrecht Classic at Susquehanna Speedway on Sunday evening, May 8. Zearfoss, who qualified for the main event by finishing second during heat race competition, improved by two positions after starting 16th on the feature grid, bettering most of the 36-car field entered for the $4,000-to-win showcase.

“We had some bad luck thrown our way at the beginning of the night, but we never let that get to us,” said Brock Zearfoss regarding the Kevin Gobrecht Classic. “We found an issue with one of our spark plugs during time trials. Luckily, I got stopped and had everything changed. We went back out at the end and salvaged a 15th place time. We persevered enough to transfer through our heat race and finish inside the top-15 during the main event. Not a bad way to end a night after the start that we had. I’m proud of my team. They never let distractions or obstacles get in their way. They keep moving forward and solve whatever is thrown at them. We are all excited to get back to work this weekend.”
