FOREST, Ohio (September 13, 2021) – It was a long haul to the Mount Rushmore State from Pleasant Hill, Ohio, but Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports made the best of their USAC Nationals appearance at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota, and capped the three-race campaign with a 14th-place score in the $20,000-to-win finale on Sunday, September 12. Westfall started 18th on Sunday’s 40-lap grid, earning his way into the big dance with a third-place finish during his respective heat race.

Quickly becoming acclimated with the state-of-the-art complex, Westfall ignited his weekend at Huset’s Speedway with a 17th-place score on Friday, followed by another feature start on Saturday; Westfall was scored 23rd.

“I just want to thank Ray Marshall for giving us the opportunity to join USAC at Huset’s over the weekend. It was a long haul, but we’re already looking forward to the chance to do it again. We built a pretty solid notebook, so if we get to go back, we’ll be ready,” Westfall explained, driver of Ray Marshall’s Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/Bumblebee Express No. 33M sprint car. “Racing against USAC is never an easy task. It’s the best of the best and you have to take advantage of every lap on the track. We’ll regroup this week and get ourselves ready to go.”

An upcoming schedule for Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports has not been finalized. A Saturday night visit to Fremont Speedway for Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) competition is a likely destination. Westfall is a former BOSS Series champion, as well as a recent BOSS Series feature winner at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. One night prior to his Pittsburgh victory, Westfall was second during BOSS action at Lernerville Speedway.
