ELIDA, Ohio (April 13, 2016) – “Mad Max” Stambaugh will begin his 2016 K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders title chase during the upcoming weekend, joining the 360 sprint car series for their season opener on Friday, April 15, at the Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio. Stambaugh, who has been an active competitor with the series for the last few seasons, finished second in the final championship standings in 2015; technically tied for the top spot, but earned fewer wins than eventual champion Jared Horstman.

“2015 ended up being a great year for us and we are proud of that,” explained Max Stambaugh. “Finishing that close to earning a championship stings a little bit. We were in great position to earn the NRA title, but didn’t get enough checks in the win column. I wasn’t too sure about our plan for this year, but after finishing so close last season, we owe it to ourselves to try again this season. I just want to thank my family and all of those who support this race team. Great help is sometimes hard to find, but that is certainly not the case here.”

The K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders will host three events during the month of April; three consecutive Friday nights at Limaland Motorsports Park. After the Season Opening Shootout on Friday, April 15, action will resume on Friday night, April 22, with the Spring Fling, followed by the Modified Mayhem XVI on Friday, April 29. Stambaugh was a two-time NRA main event winner at the Lima, Ohio, quarter-mile in 2015.

“If we want to put ourselves in a position to earn the NRA championship, we have to get things going right from the start,” said Stambaugh, pilot of the Elwer Fence, Specialized Therapy, Biggies Coast to Coast, Triple JJJ, Dale’s Concrete, Quality Welding Fab, Full Effect Lawn Mowing, Radio Hospital, No.5M. “We need to have a solid first month. The last thing we want to do is have to dig ourselves out of a hole.”
