GETTYSBURG, Pa. (October 21, 2019) – ‘Double-D’ Danny Dietrich was on his way to a successful outcome at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, October 19, but mechanical woes ultimately cut his Open Wheel Madness appearance short, eventually scored 23rd after battling as high as second in the running order.
Despite the mechanical misfortune, Dietrich is already looking ahead toward his next visit to the Port Royal ‘Speed Palace.’ The 14-time winner in 2019 will join the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series during a two-day outing on Friday and Saturday, October 25 & 26.
Dubbed the Nittany Showdown, the two-day World of Outlaws invasion of Port Royal Speedway will award a total winner’s share equaling $23,000; $8,000 on Friday and $15,000 on Saturday.
“Nothing you can do about freak mechanical things like that. We’ll just try again next weekend,” Danny Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car who owns two wins at Port Royal Speedway in 2019. “The goal is to give the Outlaws a run and hopefully beat them in front of our home fans. I think we have a great shot.”
Danny Dietrich owns one World of Outlaws victory in 2019, that occurring at Bridgeport (N.J.) Speedway on Tuesday, May 21.
