Mercer Now Part of RainedOut.com / Practice Cancelled

Mercer, PA (March 19, 2013): The practice session set for this Saturday, March 23, at Mercer Raceway Park has been canceled due to the cold and damp weather. Track Manager Frank Benic has been unable to get any equipment onto the speedway surface to prepare it for the racers. All systems are still a “go” for the Chiller Thriller on March 30, however. Two classes of Late Models, E-Mods and Open Stocks will jam the pit area for the opening event.

Racers, race fans and staff wanting information on the status of a racing event at Mercer Raceway Park can now get alerts sent to their smart phones, computers and other electronic devices. The track has joined RainedOut.com, so everyone can “know before they go.” It will be track policy to send out these alerts if a cancellation were to occur. To avoid confusion, we will refrain from sending out alerts to say that the show will go on.

Individuals wishing to get the alerts can go to the website for RainedOut.com and conduct a search for Mercer Raceway Park. The search will pull up two links. We highly recommend that a user of the system should register for both links to ensure that complete coverage is obtained. We hope to have a convenient link to that website installed on the Mercer Raceway Park webpage soon. Please check www.mercerracewaypark.com for the link.
