Mercer’s ‘Chiller Thriller’ Up Next for Jared Miley
‘Buckeye 100’ First Blockbuster for JMR on April 12th – 13th

South Park, PA (April 3rd, 2013) – With unforeseen problems keeping Jared Miley away from his originally scheduled Three State Flyers’ events last Friday and Saturday in Virginia and Maryland, The South Park, Pennsylvania native had an extra seven days to prepare for his ‘newly designated’ 2013 season debut. The pilot of the Jared Miley Racing, Colussy Chevrolet, Octane Graphix, Brougher’s Machine Shop, ‘H1’ super late model will launch his 2013 season, officially, this Saturday evening, April 6th, at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania for the annual $3,000-to-win, ‘Chiller Thriller.’ The NDRL’s ULMS Late Models will be the main attraction on Saturday night at the Mercer County 3/8’s mile oval; with many of Western Pennsylvania’s top super late model teams, including Jared Miley Racing, planning to make an appearance. The ‘Chiller Thriller’ will not only kick off Jared Miley’s 2013 season, but it will also act as the ‘season opener’ for Mercer Raceway Park, and the NDRL’s ULMS Late Models schedule.
“We ran into some problems in the shop and with our truck” explained Matt Miley; Jared Miley’s younger brother and crew chief, “We wanted to race at both Three State Flyers events last weekend, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen…we’ll head to Mercer this weekend and get our season started officially…hopefully we can get things rolling in the right direction…it’s been too long of an offseason!”
Mercer Raceway Park will be the only stop for Jared Miley this upcoming weekend. The 2012 Lernerville Speedway Track Champion finished fifth (5th) during the 2012 edition of the ‘Chiller Thriller;’ and looks forward to bettering that performance this weekend. Super late model stars such as Boom Briggs, Rob Blair, Mike Knight, Dave Hess Jr., Keith Barbara, and John Garvin are all expected to be in attendance this Saturday evening for the 30 lap, $3,000-to-win program; giving race fans from all over the region a great excuse to come join in on the action.
“It should be a lot of fun” said Matt Miley about the ‘Chiller Thriller’ event at Mercer, “We like going up there…it’s a fun place to race and there are usually a lot of good cars up there…it’s a great place to kick off the year even if that wasn’t our original plan…I just can’t thank my family and supporters enough for everything they have done for our race team…we wouldn’t be anywhere near where we are without them.”
After the ‘Chiller Thriller’ weekend comes to a close, Jared Miley, and the entire Jared Miley Racing ‘H1’ team, will move forward and continue their 2013 campaign at the NAPA Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio for the $20,000-to-win ‘Buckeye 100’ featuring the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. The two-day event, which takes place on Friday and Saturday, April 12th & 13th, will be Jared Miley’s first blockbuster event of the 2013 season. Miley will square off with some of the nation’s top super late model teams; giving the six-time Lernerville winner in 2012 a great opportunity to be even more recognized on a national level. Special event ticket pricing will be in effect for the Chiller Thriller. Adult general admission will be $17. Seniors (age 60 and over) will get a two dollar discount at the front gate only. Students will be admitted for $7 and all children (ages 8 and under) are free, as usual. The economical Family Pass will be $35, which is good for two adults and up to four minors of any age.
