FREMONT, Ohio (May 3, 2021) – Despite kicking-off the All Star Circuit of Champions Pennsylvania/Ohio tripleheader with poor weather at Lernerville Speedway on Friday, and being forced to utilize a provisional at Sharon Speedway on Saturday, the “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael did his best to bounce back in a respectable way, eventually climbing nine positions during Tri-City Raceway Park’s weekend finale to finish 14th. The Plano, Texas-native started 23rd on the 25-lap grid, earning a spot in the $6,000-to-win “A” after finishing third during the evening’s B-Main.

A sound recovery nonetheless, Michael, driver of the Michael Motorsports, Advanced Architectural Stone, Crown Battery, Fremont Fence Company, Pro-Tech Services, Wood Heating and Air Conditioning, Kistler Racing Engines, Elite Wings, Big D’s Pizza, Viva Los Healthy, M&L Graphics, HP Striping and Seal Coating, No. 8M sprint car, performed his nine-spot rally on a tricky and choppy surface, finishing just behind a pair of Western Pennsylvania standouts, Brandon Spithaler and Carl Bowser.

After utilizing a provisional starting spot at Sharon, Michael climbed four spots to finish 21st. The “Texas Traveler” is currently 12th in the All Star driver championship standings.

“It was a good way to end the weekend. We’re always striving for better and better results, but you’ve got to have a starting point. Next week is a new week and we’ll build off of this,” Michael said, a recent FAST Series winner at Waynesfield Raceway Park. “I can’t thank A.J. Havens enough for his hard work so far this season. We’re a small team with limited help in the pit area at times, but he steps up and does a great job. We’re already looking ahead to next weekend.”

Michael will resume All Star Circuit of Champions competition with a visit to I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan, on Friday, May 14, followed by a stop at the Dirt Oval at Route 66 in Joliet, Illinois, on Saturday, May 15. Each event will award a minimum of $8,000 with Friday’s Mace Thomas Classic at I-96 paying an $8,500 top prize.

A plan for the coming weekend, Friday and Saturday, May 7-8, will be determined in the coming days.
