FREMONT, Ohio (October 11, 2016) – With Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition on break until the final round on Friday and Saturday, October 21-22, the “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael, a full-time competitor on the Arctic Cat All Star trail, will use his off-weekend wisely and enter competition at the Millstream Speedway near Findlay, Ohio, on Saturday, October 15. Michael will participate in the Trick Or Treat 30 program during his weekend visit to Millstream, chasing a $5,000 top prize, as well as a first-ever victory in a 410ci sprint car.
“We’ll take advantage of this break in the schedule and head over to Millstream,” T.J. Michael said. “Only the finale remains on our All Star schedule, so we’ll try a few things in Findlay and see if they’ll help us when we head to Atomic in a few weekends. We’ve been racing at Eldora Speedway a lot during the last few weeks. It will be nice to change it up a little bit.”
T.J. Michael, a Plano, Texas, native who calls Fremont, Ohio, home during his racing season, will enter the Trick Or Treat 30 at Millstream Speedway with one recent start to his credit; finishing 22nd during the Eldora Speedway Sprintacular on Saturday, October 8. The “Texas Traveler” qualified for the feature program after finishing fifth during his respective heat race, bettering nearly half of the 40 Arctic Cat All Stars entered.
T.J. Michael is currently seventh in the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions title chase, earning seven top-ten feature finishes and 36 main event starts since the beginning of the 2016 season.
“Not a bad night at Eldora Speedway for us. Compared to most of the drivers and teams we raced against on Saturday, we are still very inexperienced,” T.J. Michael explained. “We’ve aimed much of our focus toward our qualifying effort. Qualifying really sets the tone for every All Star program. Making the heat race inversion is important, as well as qualifying fast enough to earn a dash starting position when you transfer. Regardless, we’ve learned a lot and I’m more confident now than I have been all season, or prior seasons. We still have some racing left. We still have time to earn that first win.”
