Monster Mania Returns
to
“Dirt’s Monster Half Mile”
PITTSBURGH, PA –Get ready as “Monster Mania” is set to invade “Dirt’s Monster Half Mile” this Saturday, June 8th as we present the Diehl of Robinson Monster Mania Monster Truck Show. The circle track racing action will include a complete program for the Diehl of Robinson Super Late Models and the Precise Racing RUSH Pro-Late Models. The first edition of Wacky Wheels Figure Eight Mania will also take place.
“We are pleased to welcome Joe Sylvester and the Bad Habit Monster Truck Team back to PPMS,” commented speedway owner Matt Miley. “This show has been very well received the past several years and is an excellent opportunity for us to showcase our two top classes for the monster truck fans. We hope they will enjoy the exciting racing here and encourage their friends and family to add PPMS to their weekend activities.”
In addition to Bad Habit, the following monster trucks, Eradicator, Backdraft, Rap Attack, Screamin’ Demon and Aftershock, will compete in a complete monster truck program of qualifying, freestyle and racing action.
The Super Late Model Division has not seen any one driver dominate thus far in 2013. Defending divisional champion Michael Norris and Jared Miley are the only two drivers who have scored two victories thus far. Kyle Lukon and veteran Lynn Geisler are the only other two drivers who have been able to reach victory lane in Super Late Model action. Will we see a new face in victory lane this Saturday or a repeat winner?
Kyle Lukon has been the dominate force in the RUSH Pro-Late Model Division so far in 2013. Lukon has tallied four wins and is also the current points leader in the division. Others who have scored wins include Mike Pegher, Jr., Colton Flinner and Joe Martin. Kyle’s sister, Laura, had her best finish of 2013 (third place) in last week’s main event and this determined young lady is looking to return to victory lane very soon.
PPMS management has given the Late Model Sportsman, Hobby Stock and Young Guns competitors this Saturday evening off.
The monster trucks that will be in competition this Saturday will also be on display at various locations throughout the Pittsburgh area on Friday, June 7th from Noon to 6:00PM. The trucks and locations are as follows:
Bad Habit will be at the Get Go, 7675 McKnight Road, North Hills
Eradicator and Backdraft will be on display at Diehl of Robinson, 6181 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Twp.
Rap Attack will be on display at Colussy Chevrolet in Bridgeville
Screamin’ Demon will be on display at Falconi’s Moon Township Ford, 5304 University Blvd., Moon Township
AfterShock will be at the Dick’s Sporting Goods, 5000 Robinson Town Center, Robinson Twp.
Krazy Train will be on display at the Miley BP, 4100 Steubenville Pike, Crafton, PA
The Pit and Grandstand Admission Gates for this Saturday’s event open at 3:00PM. A Pit Party will be held from 4:00PM to 6:00PM with the Monster Truck program and racing beginning at 7:00PM.
Reserved Grandstand seating for all age is $35.00. Adult General Admission is $30.00. Admission for ages 13 to 16 is $20.00 and children ages two through 12 will be admitted for $10.00.
Race fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance for this Saturday’s Monster Mania event at Diehl of Robinson as they will receive a $5.00 per ticket discount.
Please note that passes for the Pit Party are priced at $5.00.
Pit Admission for this week’s event is $30.00.
Don’t forget that the Checkered Flag Food Court has a great variety of amusement park munchies like monster chicken wings, hot and juicy hamburgers, pepperoni rolls, grilled chicken sandwiches and cotton candy at “fan friendly prices.”
