NDRL’s Bluegrass Nationals Event at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway Cancelled

Phoenix, Arizona (March 17, 2014) Officials of the National Dirt Racing League were forced to cancel the NDRL Bluegrass Nationals slated for March 27 through March 29 at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway. KLMS ownership informed the series on Tuesday that they were unsure if the facility would be ready and capable of hosting racing on the scheduled dates. “It is extremely unfortunate that we won’t be able to have the Bluegrass Nationals. We have had a great season going with strong fields of cars and incredible fan support. So we felt like we had some really good momentum going in to this one. We are very limited on available dates so to lose a good one is tough. And at this point it would really hard to reschedule at a different venue and be able to do a good job of promoting to have a successful event.” said NDRL Series Director Kelley Carlton.

The NDRL will now focus on the month of April during which they will sanction 5 huge events. The month will get started with the Mid-Atlantic Swing a series of three events through the mid-Atlantic region of the country. The three race series gets rolling on Thursday, April 10th at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway for the PENNational. The 50-lap feature will pay $10,000 to win. On Friday, April 11th the stars of the National Dirt Racing League will debut at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Virginia for the $10,000 to win Gunter’s Honey 50. And the NDRL faithful will wrap up the weekend at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia on Saturday, April 12th. The Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth will pay a whopping $20,000 to the winner. Check out all 3 tracks on the web at www.ppms.com ; www.winchestervaspeedway.com and www.vamotorspeedway.com
