NDRL’s McKean County Raceway Celebrate the ‘Stars of MCR’ with $5,000 ULMS Late Model Special.

East Smethport, PA (August 20, 2013) The NDRL’s McKean County Raceway, coming off the huge Fair Board event that took place on Thursday, August 15, will continue with their impressive 2013 schedule as the NDRL’s ULMS and A&MP Electric UEMS will be in action this upcoming Friday, August 23 for the ‘Stars of MCR’ event that will pay $5,000 to the ULMS winner and $1,000 to the UEMS winner. Also on the card are the ‘Incredible Weekly Show’ divisions of the RUSH Weekly Late Models, Close Racing Supply Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Pure Stocks.

At intermission Rod Biehler will be interviewing several STARS of MCR … including past late model champions, Bob Baldwin, Ron Stanko, Larry Bigley plus others. WE hope to have atleast 12 of the STARS of the 1980s early 90s on hand to celebrate the history of McKean County Raceway!

Ripley, NY’s Mike Knight continues to lead the 2013 ULMS Championship point standings but Bear Lake, PA’s Boom Briggs has closed the gap after his second place finish last week at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway. Matt Urban of North East, PA sits third in point just ahead of Russ King and Ron Davies. The ULMS regulars will have their hands full with some of the nation’s best travelers looking to stop in looking to steal the $5,000 prize.

Smethport’s own Steve Dixon continues to lead the UEMS point standings ahead of teammates Randy Hall and Vic Vena. Dixon has finished no worse than sixth in his past seven UEMS starts. Carl McKinney and Dave Hess Jr. round out the top-five in UEMS points and will put a dent in Dixon’s large lead.

Max Blair of Centerville, PA continues to lead the weekly RUSH Late Model point standings after finishing second in last week’s fair race. New Yorkers Adam Sixt, Ed Carley, Chad Ruhlman, and Zack Carley, all in the top five in points, will challenge Blair as he goes for his seventh win of the season.

Brad Ullman and Andy Michael, both from Allegany, NY hope to carve into Adam Ashcroft’s Close Racing Supply Street Stock point lead this week as well as keep him out of victory lane as Ashcroft has now captured nine checkered flags this 2013 season. Ashcroft holds a 66 point lead over Ullman while Michael sits 98 points behind with his two wins.

Lantz Corners, PA’s Joe Boylan continues to lead the Mini-Stock points by just 30 points over Mitch Boylan but the real battle is for the second point position as Eric Canfield is just 3 points behind Mitch while Joe Layfield leads the Pure Stock championship standings.

The action all starts Friday night, August 23 at 7:15pm with pit gates opening at 4:30pm and grandstand gates opening at 5:00pm. Grandstand admission is just $18 ($15 senior citizen) and pit passes are now only $30, children 12 and under are free.
