FOREST, Ohio (July 11, 2022) – It was a long tow to Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota, but Forest, Ohio’s Ray Marshall Motorsports and pilot Matt Westfall did their best to make the miles worth the effort, capping the three-day USAC Nationals blockbuster with a pair of top-ten finishes including a tenth-place score in the Sunday night finale on July 10; Westfall started from the pole.
Just two nights prior in the weekend lidlifter, Westfall was tenth from fifth, kicking-off the USAC Nationals officially with the second-fastest qualifying time in his group, racing on to finish fourth in his respective heat race.
Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports finished 13th in Saturday’s preliminary program; he started in the exact same position.
“It was a great weekend for our team…I’m glad we made the trip,” Ray Marshall, owner of the Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car, explained. “Hats off to Matt and the entire Bumblebee Express team. It was a long haul, but a great experience. We’ll take some time off before we get back to it with Indiana Sprint Week.”
