KNOXVILLE, Iowa (March 18, 2024) – Clute, Texas’ own Aaron Reutzel and Ridge & Sons Racing (RSR) put on a show in their two-day World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, rallying forward in each of their weekend starts while highlighting the pair with a Hard Charging Performance on Friday, March 15.
Impressive enough, Reutzel, ace of Brian and Lisa Ridge’s Folkens Brothers Trucking, Don Long & STC, B And L Holdings, No. 87 sprint car, battled ahead 17 positions to secure the aforementioned Hard Charger Award, concluding the evening in the fifth position after starting from row 11.
Reutzel’s Texas Two Step weekend concluded in similar fashion, capping action with a five-spot run from 16th to finish 11th on Saturday, March 16.
Adding to RSR’s weekend highlight reel, the team launched Cotton Bowl’s Texas Two Step with a Quick Time Award on Friday, March 15 – the ninth of Aaron Reutzel’s career with the World of Outlaws. Despite his qualifying effort, it was a poor heat race outcome that forced Reutzel to start from row 11; this is what set up his eventual hard charge.
Aaron Reutzel’s top-five count now stands at three on the year, one of which a victory during High Limit action at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida.
ON DECK:
Tentatively, Ridge & Sons Racing and Aaron Reutzel [No. 87] will continue their 2024 campaign with another World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series double in the Lone Star State, this time visiting Big O Speedway in Ennis, Texas, on Friday, March 22, and Kennedale Speedway Park in Kennedale, Texas, on Saturday, March 23.
2024 STATISTICS & HIGHLIGHTS:
Earned a King of the 360s preliminary victory at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida, on Wednesday, February 14; finished fifth in the $10,000-to-win finale (February 16). Finished fifth from 22nd (Hard Charger Award) in World of Outlaws visit to Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, on Friday, March 15.
