GETTYSBURG, Pa. (March 18, 2024) – Two Lincoln Speedway starts resulted in two podium finishes for “Double-D” Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing, but the team’s 2024 highlight reel can now include a victory, winning in their third Lincoln start of the season on Saturday, March 16 – a wire-to-wire triumph, at that.
Dietrich, a former track champion who is closing in on 70-career triumphs at the Abbottstown oval, started from the pole in Saturday’s main event, racing on hiccup free before being forced to hold off New York invader Paulie Colagiovanni in the closing laps. A caution with a few circuits remaining was no stir for Dietrich, driving on to claim the $4,000 payday.
The Williams Grove Speedway Season Opener followed Dietrich’s visit to Lincoln on Sunday, March 17, and although he was short of attaining a weekend sweep, another podium was accomplished, this time finishing second to eventual winner, Anthony Macri. Double-D started fourth on The Grove’s grid, scheduled to start second but a jump during the initial start forced the Gettysburg native back one row.
“Another great weekend for Gary Kauffman Racing. I think we were in a position to sweep the weekend, but we all know how that went,” Dietrich, ace of the Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Cochrancars.com, York Excavating, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Self Made Racing, No. 48 sprint car, said. “Happy for my team. We were close two weekends in a row at Lincoln, but we finally got that first win of the season. Three races on tap this weekend, as long as the weather plays nice. You can never tell this time of year.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2024 campaign with their first Central Pennsylvania tripleheader of the season, visiting Williams Grove Speedway, Port Royal Speedway, and BAPS Motor Speedway in consecutive fashion on Friday through Sunday, March 22-24.
