ST. HELENA, Calif. (May 25, 2021) – Despite kicking-off the weekend with a hard-fought 18th-place score at the all-new Circle City Raceway on Thursday, May 20, Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing made big headlines during their recent four-race sweep, ultimately capping the All Stars Indiana Invasion presented by Rayce Rudeen Foundation with three consecutive podium finishes, highlighting the weekend with a third-place effort during the $26,000-to-win Rayce Rudeen Foundation Race at Kokomo Speedway on Sunday, May 23. Abreu battled for a top-five spot the entire 40-lap distance, forced to duel the likes of Tyler Courtney, Kerry Madsen, and eventual winner, Zeb Wise.

Abreu, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Rowdy Energy/Curb Records/Lucas Oil Products/Self Made Racing/Stadelhofer Construction/The Wiser Agency/No. 24 sprint car, earned his first podium performance of the weekend during Circle City Raceway’s $10,000-to-win finale on Friday, May 21, crossing the line second after starting from the pole position. Abreu led a portion of the main event, taking control over hometown favorite Tyler Courtney on lap 14 before Courtney returned the favor on lap 24.

In much similar fashion, Abreu went on to finish second the following evening at Gas City I-69 Speedway, again leading a portion of the program from the pole, the first 15 laps, before eventual winner Cap Henry took command on lap 16. Abreu worked back by Henry for a moment on lap 22, but Henry resumed the point on lap 23.

All Star dash victories at Circle City and Gas City allowed the St. Helena, California-native to start from the point both evenings.

“That was a great weekend for our team. The chemistry and communication within our team continues to build and that’s only going to lead to better and better results. Things were not going so well for us for a while, but things are turning for the better and I’m proud to say we’re on the right track,” Abreu said, who now owns 18 top-ten finishes in 31 starts this season. “My team never gives up and I’m proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish lately. We’re going to keep working hard and the wins will come.”

Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing will continue their 2021 campaign with an All Star Circuit of Champions tripleheader in Pennsylvania Posse Country, set to invade Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway for a $49,000 potential on Friday through Sunday, May 28-30. The weekend will kick-off with Williams Grove’s $10,000-to-win Davey Brown Tribute on Friday, followed by the two-day Weikert Memorial at the Port Royal “Speed Palace” on Saturday and Sunday. The Weikert Memorial opener will award a $10,000 payday with the weekend finale shelling out a $29,000 winner’s share.
