ST. HELENA, Calif. (September 7, 2021) – Rico Abreu’s trip to the Pacific Northwest may not have resulted in a victory, but the St. Helena, California-native did accomplish a pair of top-ten outcomes, scoring back-to-back tenth-place finishes against the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in Skagit Speedway’s Skagit Nationals on Friday and Saturday, September 3-4.

Abreu, pilot of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Rowdy Energy/Curb Records/Lucas Oil Products/Self Made/Salty’s BBQ/The Wiser Agency/No. 24 sprint car, joined the Outlaws for all three nights of the Skagit Nationals program, but unfortunately, the recent Hard Knox winner at Knoxville Raceway was unable to continue his top-ten streak during the $25,000-to-win Skagit Nationals finale on Sunday; Abreu finished 13th after starting 15th on the grid.

“It wasn’t the weekend we were looking for, but we love having the chance to race in Washington. It’s a beautiful state with such an amazing fan base. We’re already looking forward to getting back hopefully next year,” Rico Abreu said. “Hats off to my team. We’ve been racking up a lot of miles over the last few weeks. We have a big trip ahead. I’m excited to reunite with my Pennsylvania fans.”

Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing will continue their 2021 campaign with a journey across much of the contiguous United States, setting all compasses toward the heart of Pennsylvania Posse Country where one of open wheel’s most historic and sought after events will be contested beginning Thursday evening, September 9 – the 54th edition of Port Royal Speedway’s Tuscarora 50.

The three-day blockbuster, set to headline action on Thursday through Saturday, September 9-11, will feature three complete All Star Circuit of Champions programs kicking-off with an $8,000-to-win preliminary on Thursday. Competition will continue with another preliminary contest on Friday awarding $10,000-to-win, all of which capped with the 54th running of the 50-lap Tuscarora 50 on Saturday. Commemorating its 54th edition, the 2021 Tuscarora 50 will award a $54,000 payday.
