BROWNSBURG, Ind. (November 1, 2021) – It was a hard-fought weekend through Oklahoma and Texas for ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion, Donny Shatz, but when the dust finally settled on Saturday night, the Fargo, North Dakota-native had another pair of top-five finishes to add to his season’s stat sheet, highlighting the weekend with a podium outcome at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Oklahoma, on Friday, October 29.

Schatz, pilot of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Carquest Auto Parts/Curb Records/Ford Performance/Sage Fruit/Digital Ally/Advance Auto Parts/Rush Truck Centers/Absolute Automation and Security/Hunt Brothers Pizza/TicketSmarter/J&J Auto Racing/No. 15 sprint car, finished third in his southern Oklahoma visit, utilizing a last lap pass to scoot by fellow World of Outlaws champion, Brad Sweet. A heat race victory activated Schatz’ campaign, driving on to finish sixth in the evening’s dash.

“At one point I thought we weren’t going to finish when an issue popped up with 10 to go,” Schatz mentioned regarding the Lawton A-Main. “You’re gonna have those nights, though. This team keeps delivering great race cars.”

Although falling short of a podium match, Schatz concluded his two-race sweep with a fifth-place performance during Devil’s Bowl Speedway’s Texas Outlaw Nationals on Saturday, October 30, bumping ahead one spot after starting on the outside of row three. With all results considered, Schatz is a mere-four points shy of third in the World of Outlaws standings with only a trip to Charlotte remaining on the schedule.

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will conclude the 2021 season with the highly sought after World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina. Set for Thursday through Saturday, November 4-6, the Greatest Show On Dirt’s season finale will feature two, full programs, all of which kicking off with two rounds of qualifying time trials on Thursday. The weekend will continue with back-to-back programs featuring preliminary and feature action on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Each of the Friday and Saturday main events will award $12,000-to-win.
