Rimersburg, PA – 9/5/12 – Rimersburg, Pennsylvania native and Western Pennsylvania ‘410’ sprint car veteran, Scott Priester, looks to add a Mercer Raceway Park track championship to his resume at the conclusion of this Saturday’s program. Priester, who owns a Challenger Raceway sprint car track championship, trails Eric ‘Turkey’ Williams by 28 markers in the ‘410’ sprint car standings heading into this week’s final point race at Mercer Raceway Park. If the Team Fully Injected pilot can make up the 28 point difference on Saturday night, September 8th, it will not only be Priester’s career first Mercer Raceway Park track championship, but also a career first for car owner, Martha Dionise. Priester pilots the Martha Dionise owned no. 15 sprinter each and every Saturday night at the Mercer 3/8’s mile oval, and hopes to earn each of them a Mercer Raceway Park title to help close out the twenty-twelve season.

“It’s going to be tough but I think we have a good shot!” explained Priester when discussing his championship possibility, “Williams is having a really good year and has been very consistent and tough to beat…I’m not saying we are out of the hunt because we are going to work as hard as we can to get that championship for Martha!”

Scott Priester has been ultra-consistent at the Mercer oval in 2012. The Priester/Dionise combination has earned multiple top 5 and top 10 finishes this season; including a stretch of nearly five consecutive fourth place finishes during the back-half of the season. The familiar pink and purple no. 15 has been a part of the Western Pennsylvania sprint car circuit for many seasons; with Scott Priester being the full-time pilot for the last few summers. Although the team has been more than consistent in 2012, one thing they are lacking together is a victory. Priester will have an opportunity this Saturday night at Mercer Raceway Park to not only capture a championship, but also end their season’s victory lane drought!

“We are in need of a win!” said Scott Priester, jokingly, “We have been working really hard this season and I really want to thank Martha for everything…but now I need to return the favor and put this team in victory lane!”

Mike Lutz, Rod George, and North Jackson, Ohio’s Jack Sodeman Jr. round out the top five in the current ‘410’ sprint car standings at Mercer Raceway Park. This Saturday’s program will also feature the ‘Meet Your Heroes’ program, and the Brian Steinman tribute! The event format will also feature double points for all divisions; giving drivers and teams a better opportunity to gain, or lose, a position in final standings.
