Wampum – 6/14/12] Fourth generation sprint car driver and Wampum, Pennsylvania native, Brandon Matus, finds himself within championship reach in the Ti22 Performance Sprint Cars at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. Although the 2012 ‘Fab Four’ season has yet to reach the half-way mark, consistency and results would point that Brandon Matus is heading in the right track. The recent high school graduate currently sits third in the Lernerville Speedway point standings; only 42 markers out of the top spot – which is held by former track champion and Kittanning native, Kevin Schaeffer. Matus has not finished outside of the top 10 at Lernerville Speedway so far in the 2012 season; highlighted by a runner-up finish late in April. The former winner at Lernerville Speedway finished 10th last weekend at the 4/10’s mile oval.
Matus has plenty of season left to reach his goal of a 2012 Lernerville Speedway track championship. The familiar ’13’ will be back in action tomorrow night at the Sarver, Pennsylvania oval to help highlight the yearly ‘Holiday Fireworks’ display. ‘Fab Four’ action will fill the evening schedule. Former 3-time Lernerville Speedway track champion, Kevin Schaeffer, leads the Ti22 Performance Sprint Car point standings over Rod George and Brandon Matus. Eric Williams and former track champion, Carl Bowser, round out the top five!
