Sodeman Scores Sixth Win of the Season, Lernerville and Putzy Kekich Memorial on Deck

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

NORTH JACKSON, Ohio (August 1, 2016) – For the sixth time in 2016 and for the third time at Lernerville Speedway, Jack Sodeman, Jr. is a main event winner during 410 sprint car competition, this time outlasting the Lernerville field on Friday evening, July 29. The victory was fitting for the North Jackson, Ohio, native, occurring on Nostalgia Night while piloting his throwback sprint car which honors his family’s long involvement in sprint car racing. With championship points also on the line, the win allowed Sodeman to extend his advantage in the 2016 Lernerville Speedway title chase, now ahead by 25 markers over A.J. Flick.

“Not sure we were the fastest car on the speedway on Friday, but things worked out in our favor,” Sodeman explained. “We were racing with A.J. Flick for the lead before he made contact with the wall coming out of four. Tough to see things like happen, but all you can do is stay focused and worry about what is ahead of you. It was really special to win on Nostalgia Night with our throwback car. It couldn’t have worked out any better.”

Unfortunately for Sodeman, the two Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions starts that followed his Lernerville Speedway victory fell short of expectation, beginning with a washout at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway just after heat race action on Saturday, July 30.

Jack Sodeman, Jr. joined the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions once again on Sunday evening, July 31, at the Tri-City Raceway Park near Franklin, Pennsylvania. The pilot of the Glassmere Fuel, Economy Tooling, PRS Transit, Townsend Gas & Oil, Inc., Butlerbuilt, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Simpson Race Products, Triple X Race Components, No. 23JR qualified for the 30-lap/$5,000-to-win main event, but was forced to settle for a “DNF.” Contact with another car during green flag action would result in a broken front end, forcing Sodeman to be towed off the speedway on the hook. Sodeman was scored 24th after starting 14th.

Up next on Sodeman’s 2016 schedule is another routine Western Pennsylvania doubleheader, set to visit Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park on Friday and Saturday, August 5-6. Fab Four competition will highlight action at Lernerville Speedway, followed by the 3rd annual Putzy Kekich Memorial at Mercer Raceway Park. Jack Sodeman, Jr. is the current track championship point leader at each facility.
