CARLISLE, Pa. (June 6, 2022) – Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports were elbows up Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and although the Carlisle, Pennsylvania-based race team was forced to settle for a finish outside of the top-ten, ending their night 11th after starting 12th on the grid, they are eager to get back to work, ready to battle at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, in the two-day Brownells Big Guns Bash on June 10-11.
A fourth-place run during River Cities heat race competition allowed Bayston to automatically qualify for the evening’s main event.
“I think we were better than where we finished, but hats off to this team. They have done an amazing job this year and I’m confident we have big things ahead for us, especially with so much on our June schedule,” Bayston said, Lebanon, Indiana, native and driver of the Signing Day Sports, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, The Dunn Group, Highlands’ Power Sports, High Performance Lubricants, FK Rod Ends, No. 5 sprint car. “We’re definitely ready to get to Knoxville this weekend. I think this will give us a great opportunity to see where we stand, as well as see what we need to improve on before the Nationals in August.”
Bayston was scheduled to make two starts with the Greatest Show On Dirt this weekend, but Mother Nature stepped in and ruined the Sunday night party at Huset’s Speedway forcing a postponement until Wednesday, June 22; the $100,000-to-win Huset’s Speedway High Bank Nationals will launch the following evening, Thursday, June 23.
ON DECK:
As mentioned, Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a doubleheader at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Friday and Saturday, June 10-11. Dubbed the Brownells Big Guns Bash, the two-day showcase, a perfect preamble for the forthcoming 61st running of the prestigious Knoxville Nationals, will award a pair of $10,000 top prizes.
