Stambaugh will hunt for $7,500 during GLSS doubleheader at Tri-City Motor Speedway

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

ELIDA, Ohio (August 30, 2018) – If all goes according to plan, ‘Mad Max’ Stambaugh will race for a combined winner’s share nearing $20,000 during Labor Day weekend, all kicking off with a Great Lakes Super Sprints (GLSS) doubleheader in Michigan on Friday and Saturday, August 31 & September 1.

Stambaugh, who owns two GLSS victories thus far in 2018, will join the Michigan-based, 360c.i. sprint car series at Tri-City Motor Speedway in Auburn, Mich., for the two-day Great Lakes Fall Sprintacular. The GLSS season finale will award $2,500 on Friday, followed by a $5,000 top prize on Saturday. Although following the GLSS schedule on a limited basis in 2018, Stambaugh owns four top-ten finishes in five feature starts, earning his pair of victories during competition at Gas City (Ind.) Speedway and Crystal (Mich.) Motor Speedway.

If the trip to Michigan proves successful, Stambaugh will most likely make the near-five hour trip from Auburn, Mich., to Orrville, Ohio, and join the All Star Circuit of Champions at Wayne County Speedway for the annual Pete Jacobs Memorial on Sunday, September 2.

As a former Rookie of the Year with the Tony Stewart-owned organization, ‘Mad Max’ is certainly no stranger to All Star Circuit of Champions competition and has qualified for five features in 2018, highlighting recent results with a top-ten finish during the Lou Blaney Memorial at Sharon Speedway.

The Labor Day weekend showstopper at ‘Orrville’s Historic Oval’ will award a $10,000 top prize.

“I’m excited about the upcoming weekend. We really didn’t have a full game plan until a few days ago. This may be a great weekend,” Stambaugh explained, driver of the Wicked Cushion/Lima Cadillac Chevrolet/Biggies Coast to Coast/Schaeffer Racing Oil/Triple JJJ/Dale’s Concrete/Fully Injected Motorsports/Specialized Therapy/No. 5M sprint car. “Of course, I wouldn’t be in this position without the help from my dedicated partners. I have a lot of people who help keep this race team moving up and down the highway. We’ve had our fair share of success this season, even on a limited budget. We plan to keep that going this weekend in Michigan, and hopefully in Ohio.”

During recent competition, ‘Mad Max’ made the trip to Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway on Saturday, August 25, for non-sanctioned action. Stambaugh finished fifth after starting sixth.
