Surprisingly enough, the drive to Clinton County Raceway at the Clinton County Fairgrounds just outside of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania was not as far as I expected. 4 hours of combined travel time, there and back, allowed for a nice Sunday afternoon and evening venture across the north central region of Pennsylvania.
33 All Star Circuit of Champions 410 sprinters, as well as roughly 35 270cc micros, filled the fairground 1/4 mile oval pit area. Greg Hodnett was the fast timer of the 33 410 entries over such All Star entries like Tim Shaffer, Dale Blaney, David Gravel, and Jessica Zemken. Dry and slick track conditions; mixed in with a few rough spots, made for an interesting yet uneventful A-main event. Lance Dewease would get around Justin Henderson on an early restart and never look back; going basically untouched for the remainder of the 30 lapper- holding off Henderson at the line with Hafertepe, Hodnett, and Mark Smith rounding out the top 5.
Pete Miller III grabbed the B-main win over a hard charging Tyler Walker, who flipped in his heat and had to change to a back up car. The All Stars are back in action Wednesday in Fonda, New York.
