HISTORIC WEEKEND SET TO KICKOFF SWEENEY RUSH L.M. TOUR FRIDAY AT ROARING KNOB FOLLOWED BY HAGERSTOWN SATURDAY

(Pulaski, PA)…After all of the hard work during the offseason and tremendous support by the racers, speedways, and sponsors it’s finally showtime for the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series. The inaugural weekend will be a huge one with events Friday (April 19) and Saturday (April 20) at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex inMarkleysburg, PA and Hagerstown Speedway inHagerstown, MD respectively; all part of the “Battle Down the National Pike” with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series!

Aptly named “Battle Down the National Pike” due to both speedways’ proximity to National US Route 40, the weekend will mark history made both nights. Friday of course at Roaring Knob will be the first ever Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSHTouring Series event then Saturday will feature the Crate Late Models at the nationally-known and historic Hagerstown Speedway for the first time ever!

The weekend has drawn interest from racers literally all over the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic as teams are expected from Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland,Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Canada! All of the region’s top Crate Late Model racers have already joined RUSH including 38 signing up for the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC Touring Series Championship before an event has even been contested! Numerous others have additionally signed up for the regional weekly championship.

“The response for this weekend has been incredible,” stated RUSH Co-Director Vicki Emig. “We continue to get calls and e-mails from new racers that will be participating besides so many of the region’s top Crate Late Model racers. Since the news about Crate Late Models coming to Hagerstown in addition to weekly action at The Rock inCumberland, a tremendous amount of interest has been drummed up from the east. This coupled with Roaring Knob and the strong crop of racers in that region, we expect a great turnout this weekend.”

Friday’s feature will pay $2,000 to-win, while $2,500 will be on the line on Saturday night. Both events will include group qualifying and the new Bobby Lake Motorsports “Shock the Clock & Beat the Heat” Quick Cash Program will be in effect meaning $100 will be awarded to the fast qualifier and $25 to the heat race winners at each event!

The first heat race winner will then draw an invert for the feature. Following the invert, the first four drivers (five if five heats are run) will run the K&N “Cold Air Induction” Dash. The dash will not only determine the beginning of the 30-lap feature line-ups, but will also award the winner a $100 K&N certificate with a $50 K&N certificate going to second place, and $25 cash for other starters. The remainder of the line-up will be based off heat and B main finishes.

Other programs taking place will be the Precise Racing Products “Pedal Down Hard Charger” as the driver that passes the most cars in the feature will receive $100 Precise certificate. RUSH Officials will choose The Brake Man “Tough Brake of the Night” as this driver will receive three bottles of Xtreme6 Racing Brake Fluid valued at approximately $45 along with a certificate good for either $50 off of a purchase of $100 or more or 20% off any The Brake Man purchase.
