T.J. Michael Locked and Loaded for Texas Outlaw Debut

PLANO, Texas (February 22, 2016) – The “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael will continue his 2016 campaign with two, full nights of World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars competition in his home state of Texas. Michael, a Plano native and recent high school graduate, will join the “Greatest Show On Dirt” on Friday and Saturday, February 26-27, at Cotton Bowl Speedway and Royal Purple Raceway; each new to Michael’s racing repertoire. The Texas weekend swing will ignite with action at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, followed by Baytown’s Royal Purple Raceway.
“We’ve been looking forward to this weekend all winter” T.J. Michael explained, “I spend most of my summers racing in areas of Ohio, so having an opportunity to race in Texas is really special. This gives my family and friends an opportunity to watch us race in person, as well as hang out with everyone at the track. It will be a tough weekend, but we’ll do whatever we can to make a little extra noise. I can’t thank my dad, sponsors and loyal supporters enough for these opportunities. We can’t wait to get the weekend rolling.”
Despite the upcoming weekend being full of new destinations for the Fremont Fence Company, Advanced Cast Stone, Kear’s Speed Shop, Shell Shock, Hinchman Suits, No. 8M team, Michael is no stranger to open wheel competition in the great state of Texas. A 305 sprint car victory at the Gator Motorplex officially launched Michael’s 2015 season; his first ever sprint car win in Texas and his first of three, 305 sprint car victories last year.
“We hope to make racing in Texas an early season tradition for the rest of my career” Michael said, “Gives me a great opportunity to get a jump on the year before the tracks in Ohio open in late March and early April.”
