SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (May 15, 2023) – As expected, the “Big Wheel” Scotty Thiel and Premier Motorsports rolled into the All Star Circuit of Champions weekend at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois, and Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin, with confidence and determination, eager to enter events in familiar territory and ultimately turn their season around. The plan worked out just as anticipated, capping the weekend with back-to-back top-ten scores including a near podium performance in southern Wisconsin.

Thiel, ace of Pete Grove’s Walker’s Game Ear, Lumber & Things, Professional Plating, Scott Thiel Builders, Stealth Cam, Muddy Outdoors, Lutes Custom Cabinetry, Linc Systems, Complete Water Inc, No. 70 sprint car, finished fourth in his Wilmot Raceway appearance on Saturday, bumping ahead one spot after starting fifth on the 30-lap/$6,000-to-win grid. The Sheboygan, Wisconsin, native, forced to outduel Tim Shaffer, Sye Lynch, and Bill Balog in his top-five pursuit,  won his respective heat race to launch the evening showcase, automatically qualifying the former Wilmot/IRA winner with a dash position; he finished fifth.

Just one night prior at Jacksonville, Thiel finished ninth from seventh, and just like his eventual visit to Wilmot, the Big Wheel kicked-off the night with a heat race win and a dash appearance.

Contact during Jacksonville’s A-Main cost Thiel any and all potential.

“We had a lot of confidence heading into the weekend, so to accomplish what we set out to do is exciting and motivating. Definitely needed those results for a team boost,” Thiel explained. “Our focus now is to transfer that momentum and success into new places and the tracks out east. The potential is there and we’ve proven that.”

ON DECK:
“Big Wheel” Scotty Thiel and Premier Motorsports will continue their 2023 All Star Circuit of Champions campaign with a tripleheader through the Empire State, set to invade Outlaw Speedway, Fonda Speedway, and Weedsport Speedway on Friday through Sunday, May 19-21. A full New York slate equals big money for “America’s Series,” as each night will offer an increased purse with $8,000 up for grabs on Friday, $10,000 on Saturday, and $8,000 again on Sunday. In addition, Thiel plans to join the High Limit Sprint Car Series at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, on Tuesday, May 16; the event will pay $32,023-to-win.
