MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa (July 25, 2022) – Mother Nature did not do TKS Motorsports and Ian Madsen any favors on Saturday night at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, as the Mitchellville, Iowa-based team was scheduled to start on the front row. Unfortunately, wet weather moved in, again, negating all hope for the 410 sprint car A-Main to be completed as scheduled. It has been postponed until the last points night of the season; Madsen will start second.

Despite the wet ending, the team’s preliminary effort was sound, kicking things off with the sixth-fastest time of 30 entries, racing on to finish sixth in their respective heat race. A narrow track as the result of weather before the evening’s heat races left little hope for Madsen to make progress.

“It was a great effort by everyone on Saturday night, and leading into the weekend,” Troy Renfro stated, owner of Ian Madsen’s Albaugh LLC, Iowa Barnstormers, Jersey Freeze, deWit Construction, No. 2KS sprint car. “We put together a brand new car this week and it was all hands on deck Wednesday and Thursday to get it ready. Friday’s practice went well and that allowed us to roll into Saturday with a better feel for this new car. It’s a bummer the rain had to move in again, but we’ll do whatever we can to pick up right where we left off when we join the All Stars on Saturday.”

ON DECK:
TKS Motorsports and Ian Madsen will continue their 2022 campaign by joining the All Star Circuit of Champions at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, July 30.
